SRAJAN is a Student Project Contest, organized by IEEE Student Branch, MANIT Bhopal. This event has received a lot of innovative ideas such as fuel cell power based car, walking stick for blinds etc. SRAJAN focusses on innovation and novelty in the field of technology.

The prime objective of this contest is to bring out technological innovations in light which are possible to be used in real life scenarios and to cherish such ideas which will be able to solve the problems of a simple, common man. The contest aims to bring ideas and innovations from the students of engineering fraternity, to give them opportunity to present their creations to intellectual minds and a chance to discuss about these creations with them. SRAJAN invites ideas for changes which can have a strong and lasting impact on the problems of the people of our society.


Commemorating for the creative thinking and inordinate innovation on the platform of National Importance, identifying , devising and canvassing the prevalent problems by analyzing information, acquiring knowledge and proposing solutions in order to invigorate the ideation process among budding engineers is the intrinsic aim of SRAJAN 15´.

Srajan´15 Student Project Contest was held at Student Activity Centre (SAC), MANIT. Notably, Srajan is a biennial Student Project Contest organised by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) to promote research activities among the engineering students at undergraduate and postgraduate level and provides them a platform to present their creative and innovative ideas.


The programme began on February 21 and the Chief Guest for the ceremony was Umashankar Gupta, Higher Education Minister, Madhya Pradesh. The ceremony was presided over by Dr.Appu Kuttan KK, Director, MANIT. As many as 20 projects were finally shortlisted out of 110 entries for exhibition during Srajan’15. Some of the shortlisted projects include Prosthetic Hand for trans radial amputee, Home Automation using voice and gesture recognition, Wonder Glove (A communication device for the deaf and blind), Solar energy based drip irrigation system were exhibited at the SAC.


Srajan is a biennial Student Project Contest organised by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). The programme was held on 2nd – 3rd March, 2013.

We received projects from different colleges all around the country and best of the projects were called for the exhibition held in SRAJAN ´13.There were various events conducted along with the Project Contest. There was a guest lecture series that consisted of Jeff Lieberman, the host of show Time Warp on Discovery Channel. Some other notable personalities were Dr.Alok Nath De(Chief Technical Officer, Samsung India Software Operations), Mr.N K Goyal (President, Communication and Manufacturing Association of India (CMAI)).


Also, workshops on Python Programming and Low Power Embedded Systems using Texas Instruments MSP430 Micro controller was held and received participation in huge numbers. We also organized Srajan ´13 Code Challenge an online coding competition in association with Hacker Rank on 26 January, 2013.
